In Memoriam – Pope Francis

Pope Francis: 1936 - 2025
Pope Francis: 1936 - 2025

Today, with sadness and hope, we pause to remember and reflect on the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. As members of the Body of Christ, we are more than individuals - we are a family. And in this moment of mourning, the entire Church joins together in prayer, unified across nations, languages, and time zones. We are one family, lifting our hearts to heaven.

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, instituted by Pope Francis, may the Church be more deeply rooted in the virtue of hope. Hope that looks beyond the grief of the moment. Hope that believes in the resurrection. Hope that trusts that God is working in His Church.

We also pray for the cardinals who will soon gather in conclave. May the Holy Spirit move powerfully to raise up the next Shepherd we need - a leader after the Heart of Christ, who will guide the Church with wisdom, courage, and faithfulness.

LET US PRAY

  • For the repose of the soul of Pope Francis

  • For comfort and unity in the Body of Christ

  • For a deeper rooting of hope in the heart of the Church

  • For the Holy Spirit to anoint and guide the selection of our next Holy Father

A Novena for Pope Francis is attached below for you to download and pray, if you would like, in solidarity with the faithful around the world.

"The resurrection of Jesus is indeed the basis of our hope. For in the light of this event, hope is no longer an illusion. Thanks to Christ - crucified and risen from the dead - hope does not disappoint! Spes non confundit! (cf. Rom 5:5). That hope is not an evasion, but a challenge; it does not delude, but empowers us."
