This weekend, my husband and I attended a retreat where we had the opportunity to connect with friends and meet many new ones. There were so many highlights and good little nuggets of information that we will be meditating on for quite some time. One of the messages came from our Bishop, who joined us on Saturday and offered the Vigil Mass for us. The Gospel reading was John 14:1-12, and we were challenged to "think of Heaven" more. A place has already been prepared for us in Heaven, our true and eternal home. If we turn our minds to Heaven more, we will naturally want to do what God placed us on earth to do so we can live fulfilled lives and join the ranks of saints in Heaven. Jesus tells us that the only way is through Him as He is, "the way and the truth and the life." The way is the path we take on this journey. Are you following Him? The truth is written for us in scripture. Do you read it? The life is His that is freely given so that we may live. Are you willing to surrender your life to Him?
SPIRITUAL Every May, we look forward to May Crowning at our favorite little retreat center in the middle of the mountains. We caravan out there with kids, flowers, wire, lunch and our rosaries. We fashion flower crowns for all the Mary statues on the property as well as the ones we have at home. We pray the rosary as we process around the property with the kids making sure each statue is properly crowned. It is always such a wonder filled time together and a beautiful reminder of Mary, her motherhood, her humility, her surrender, and her queenship over heaven and earth. Do you have a statue of Mary in your home? Big or small, make a little crown of flowers and place it on her head while praying the rosary or singing a Marian Hymn.
SELF Are you keeping up with daily intentional movement? I'll admit that last week I did not take care of myself as I should have been. Workouts, nutrition, motivation, etc. So, this week I am starting a new routine as I am ready for a change after using the same exercise program for over a year. My husband has been doing the MTNTough program for a couple years and I am finally joining him. Well, sort of! I am starting at the very beginning with their On-Ramp program, and maybe one day I'll catch up with him! Check it out if you are looking for something new and different, or if you want to see what we are doing.

SERVICE In line with what our Bishop shared about thinking of Heaven more, he suggested simplifying our physical environment so it is not so distracting. I immediately thought of all the plastic and glass storage containers we have that need to be organized and simplified. There are so many mismatched pieces! It's on my list to get done this week and I'll listen to the Agnus Dei linked below, sent to me by my daughter. It's beautiful! What can you simplify to turn your mind to think of Heaven more this week?

You are "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises" of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1Peter 2:8-9
